Why we built it
Project Alpha is a comprehensive business document platform built for small businesses, freelancers, and agencies. From quotes to contracts to invoices, it provides the tools you need to run your business efficiently — without the bloat.
Unlike bulky tools with steep learning curves, Project Alpha is designed to be intuitive, lightweight, and tailored to how real service work flows: quote it, sign it, do it, bill it. Whether you handle one-time projects or recurring retainers, the workflow adapts to you.
It's developed by Ledge Top Technologies LLC in Greenleaf, Wisconsin, and battle-tested daily in our own service businesses. Every feature exists because we needed it ourselves first.
What we believe
Open source first
The full platform is on GitHub. Read it, audit it, self-host it, fork it. Paid hosting is a convenience, never a lock-in.
Workflow over features
One approval generates the contract and invoice. Documents stay linked by project code. Less re-typing, fewer mistakes.
Security by default
Encrypted secrets, database encryption at rest, audit logging, account lockout, and CI security scanning ship out of the box.
Small-business honest
Straightforward pricing, no per-seat games, and the free tier is genuinely free — it's the same code we run ourselves.
